The main gate lies only 14 kilometers from the equator turn-off, just before Nanyuki town.
Wildlife and Big Five Encounters
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is home to an extraordinary variety of wildlife. Visitors have the opportunity to see the Big Five—endangered black and white rhinos, lions, elephants, leopards, and buffalo. The conservancy also protects other rare species, including Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, cheetahs, and even chimpanzees at the dedicated Chimpanzee Sanctuary. With good all-weather roads and carefully managed game drives, guests can enjoy close and safe wildlife encounters in a pristine and secure environment.
Scenic Landscapes and Safari Activities
The wide-open plains of Ol Pejeta, framed by Mount Kenya and the Aberdares, create a breathtaking backdrop for safari adventures. Activities include guided game drives, walking safaris, birdwatching, and special visits to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Guests can also participate in conservation-focused programs, learning about wildlife protection, rhino tracking, and ecosystem management. The conservancy’s commitment to preserving biodiversity ensures that every visit contributes to sustainable tourism and wildlife conservation.
