Experience the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife of Amboseli National Park from a completely different perspective with a hot air balloon safari. This early morning adventure offers a peaceful and unforgettable way to observe wildlife as the African savannah awakens beneath you.
Your day begins with an early wake-up call around 05:30 AM at your lodge or camp. After a light tea or coffee, you will depart for the balloon launch site located within the park. Upon arrival, the pilot will provide a pre-flight safety briefing at around 06:00 AM, explaining the flight procedures and what to expect during the journey.
At approximately 06:15 AM, your hot air balloon lifts gently into the sky, just as the sun begins to rise over the plains. As you float silently above the landscape for about one hour, you will enjoy spectacular aerial views of the park’s open savannahs, wetlands, and wildlife.
From above, you may spot herds of animals roaming freely across the plains. Keep an eye out for African Buffalo, Plains Zebra, and graceful Masai Giraffe grazing in the early morning light. On clear days, you may also enjoy stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, rising majestically in the distance.
After landing, celebrate the adventure with a traditional champagne bush breakfast served in the open savannah — a classic safari experience. Following breakfast, you will return to your lodge or camp by approximately 09:30 AM, enjoying a game drive along the way, giving you another opportunity to observe wildlife up close.
