Depending on your arrival time, you may also explore the hotel surroundings or enjoy a leisurely dinner, preparing for an early start the next morning as your African safari begins.
Rise and shine for an early start at 7:30 AM as your guide picks you up from Nairobi. Begin the journey south to Amboseli National Park, passing through Kenya’s bustling townships and experiencing the relaxed “Hakuna Matata” culture along the way.
Your first stop is Emali, a historic transit town once a vibrant barter trading post between the Maasai and Kamba communities. Take a short break to stretch your legs or enjoy a quick breakfast before continuing your drive through the scenic landscapes of southern Kenya.
Arrive at Amboseli in time for lunch at your camp or lodge, then embark on your first afternoon game drive. Explore the park’s expansive plains, with the majestic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro serving as a breathtaking backdrop. As the sun dips below the horizon, watch the landscape transform with golden hues and dramatic shadows, a perfect photography opportunity.
Return to your safari camp or lodge for dinner and overnight, resting up for another day of wildlife adventures.
After an early breakfast at your lodge or camp, enjoy a final morning game drive in Amboseli National Park. Take in the spectacular sight of herds of elephants, graceful giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest against the iconic backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. This is the perfect time to capture photos of the park’s wildlife as they move through the golden morning light.
Following your morning adventure, you will check out and depart Amboseli, driving south toward the Namanga border post for Tanzania immigration formalities. The journey takes you through rolling savannahs, small Maasai villages, and local farmland, offering a glimpse into the daily life and culture of the region.
Once you cross into Tanzania, continue your scenic drive to Arusha, the safari capital of the country.
After an early breakfast at your hotel, your safari adventure continues with a departure at 8:00 AM from Arusha toward Tarangire National Park, located roughly two hours away. The drive itself is scenic, winding through fertile farmland, small villages, and acacia-dotted plains, giving you a glimpse of rural Tanzanian life.
Upon arrival, check into your Safari Camp or Lodge and prepare for your morning game drive. Tarangire is famed for its large elephant herds, some of the largest in East Africa, as well as its unique baobab-studded landscapes. Other wildlife commonly seen includes lions, hippos, leopards, cheetahs (rare), African buffaloes, hyenas (rare), zebras, giraffes, African wild dogs, bat-eared foxes, warthogs, and jackals, making this park a rich and diverse wildlife sanctuary.
Return to the lodge for a midday lunch, giving you time to relax and enjoy the camp’s surroundings. In the afternoon, head back into the park for an evening game drive, when animals are often more active and the golden light of sunset creates perfect photographic conditions.
As the day draws to a close, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay, resting comfortably under the vast African sky, ready for the next leg of your safari adventure.
After an early breakfast at your hotel, depart at 8:00 AM for Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic drive of roughly two hours. Along the way, you’ll pass through charming Tanzanian villages, rolling farmland, and lush highland scenery, offering a glimpse of local life before reaching the park.
Upon arrival, check in at your lodge or safari camp and enjoy a leisurely lunch before heading out for your afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara is renowned for its diverse habitats and ecosystems, from dense rainforests and acacia woodlands to wetlands and open savannahs, all of which support a wide variety of wildlife in a relatively compact area.
During your game drive, keep your camera ready for tree-climbing lions, a rare sight unique to this park. You’ll also likely see elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, impalas, baboons, and hippos, alongside flamingos and other striking waterbirds that grace the lake’s shores. Although the park is smaller than some of the other parks on your itinerary, the variety of species and habitats makes every moment a rewarding experience.
Return to your lodge/camp in the evening for dinner and overnight stay, resting amidst the tranquil beauty of the Rift Valley ecosystem, ready for the next stage of your safari adventure.
After an early breakfast, depart from Lake Manyara and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. Upon arrival, prepare for the descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.
The journey begins along the crater rim, offering panoramic views of the crater’s walls rising dramatically on all sides. As you wind down the steep, winding road to the crater floor, the scale of this geological wonder becomes apparent—the enclosed plains stretch before you like a natural amphitheater teeming with life.
Once on the crater floor, the flat, open terrain allows for exceptional wildlife viewing. Here, you will encounter a dense concentration of Africa’s iconic species, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, black rhinos, zebras, wildebeests, and hippos, all set against the backdrop of the towering crater walls. Bird enthusiasts will also be delighted by flamingos, storks, and other vibrant waterbirds found near the seasonal lakes and marshes.
Spend the day on a full game drive, tracking animals and capturing unforgettable photographic moments as you explore this unique, self-contained ecosystem. Midday offers a picnic lunch in a scenic spot, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wild.
As the afternoon draws to a close, begin your return ascent to the crater rim and onward to your lodge or camp. Reflect on the day’s remarkable encounters over dinner and enjoy an overnight stay in the tranquil beauty of the Ngorongoro highlands.
After an early breakfast, depart from Ngorongoro and drive toward the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. The journey takes you across the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania, with views of rolling savannahs and scattered acacia woodlands.
Arrive in the Serengeti late in the morning, in time for a game drive en route to your lodge for lunch. The park, spanning over 30,000 square kilometers, is renowned for its sweeping endless plains, teeming with wildlife and dramatic vistas that stretch as far as the eye can see.
During your game drive, spot a diverse array of species including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and hyenas. Bird enthusiasts will also delight in the colorful eagles, vultures, and other savannah species that soar above the plains.
For visitors traveling during the Great Migration, the Serengeti serves as the starting point of the incredible 800 km journey from the southern plains northward, eventually crossing into Kenya’s Maasai Mara. Between January and March, the park comes alive with the Calving Season, when over 8,000 wildebeest calves are born each day, attracting predators and creating one of nature’s most fascinating spectacles.
In the afternoon, continue your exploration of the park before arriving at your camp or lodge, where you’ll enjoy dinner and settle in for the night, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
Rise early for a morning game drive in the Serengeti, departing around 6:15 a.m., when the savannah comes alive with the sights and sounds of wildlife. Morning is the ideal time to spot predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards as they hunt or return from their nocturnal activities, while herds of elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras graze across the golden plains.
Return to your lodge or camp for breakfast, then enjoy a brief rest before preparing for your afternoon game drive, which begins around 3:30 p.m. and lasts until 6:30 p.m. This late-day drive offers spectacular golden-hour photography opportunities, as the low sun casts long shadows across the plains and animals become increasingly active.
As your safari is private, game drive timings are flexible—perfect for families with children or couples on a honeymoon. For those seeking a more immersive experience, you may opt for a full-day game drive, exploring deeper into the Serengeti with a packed picnic lunch amidst the wilderness, at no extra cost.
Throughout the day, watch the Great Migration (seasonal), witness dramatic predator-prey interactions, and enjoy up-close encounters with the park’s remarkable diversity of mammals and birds. Return in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay, reliving the day’s unforgettable wildlife experiences under the starry Serengeti sky.
After a good night’s rest and a hearty breakfast, embark on your final game drive in the Serengeti, taking in the last breathtaking views of the endless plains and the wildlife that call it home. This is your opportunity to catch early-morning predators and grazing herds, or simply enjoy the tranquility of the savannah one last time.
Following the game drive, begin your journey to Maasai Mara. The drive will take you approximately three hours to the Isebania border, crossing from Tanzania into Kenya. Along the way, admire the rolling landscapes, local villages, and farmland that characterize the Kenya-Tanzania border region.
After clearing border formalities, continue through scenic countryside toward the Maasai Mara National Reserve, arriving in the evening. Upon arrival, check in at your camp or lodge, enjoy dinner, and relax after a long day of travel, ready for the next adventure in this iconic reserve.
Rise early to witness the sunrise over the vast Mara plains, as golden light floods the savannah and awakens the wildlife. After a hearty breakfast at your camp, set out for a full-day game drive, exploring the breathtaking Masai Mara National Reserve.
Covering 1,510 km² of fertile riverine woodland, rolling grasslands, and meandering rivers, the Mara is one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. From strategic vantage points along the Mara and Talek rivers, watch herds of zebras, wildebeests, and gazelles as they graze, migrate, and cross waterways. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards stalk their prey, offering thrilling wildlife encounters at every turn.
During the Great Migration season, you may position yourself for a front-row view of the epic river crossings, a spectacle where survival dramas unfold in real time. Between game drives, enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the savannah, soaking in the sights, sounds, and rhythms of this extraordinary ecosystem. As evening approaches, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight, filled with memories of one of the world’s greatest wildlife experiences.
After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and travel north through Kenya’s fertile “breadbasket,” where acres of wheat and barley stretch across the landscape, reflecting the country’s rich agricultural heritage. Pass through Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand, and continue across the Rift Valley plains, dotted with small towns and local marketplaces that offer a glimpse of everyday Kenyan life. Ascend the Mau Escarpment, with its rolling hills and scenic vistas, before arriving at Lake Nakuru.
Lake Nakuru is famous for its stunning flamingo spectacle, where thousands of these pink-feathered birds line the shimmering waters, creating one of the most photogenic sights in Africa. After enjoying lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge, head out for an afternoon game drive in Nakuru National Park, a haven for wildlife including white and black rhinos, waterbucks, impalas, buffaloes, and giraffes. Capture incredible photos of both the birds and mammals against the backdrop of the lake and acacia-dotted hills. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight, reflecting on the beauty of this unique ecosystem.
After breakfast at Lake Nakuru Lodge, depart for Nairobi, enjoying scenic views along the way as you descend from the Rift Valley. Upon arrival, prepare for a truly unique adventure: a night game drive at Nairobi National Park, one of the few urban wildlife reserves in the world.
As darkness falls, the park comes alive with creatures rarely seen during the day. Guided by expert rangers, you’ll have the chance to spot nocturnal animals such as civet cats, porcupines, aardvarks, genets, mongooses, and bush babies. The nocturnal predators, including lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas, also become more active, giving you a rare glimpse of their hunting behaviors and stealthy movements in the shadows.
This guided safari begins around 6:00 PM, offering the perfect combination of adventure and wildlife photography under the moonlight. After the night game drive, you will return to your Nairobi hotel for dinner and overnight, reflecting on the rare and thrilling sights of the African nocturnal wilderness.
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxing morning at your hotel, reflecting on the incredible experiences of your Kenya and Tanzania safari. Depending on your flight schedule, you will have some time to rest, pack, or take a final stroll around the hotel grounds.
When it’s time to depart, your private guide and driver will pick you up and transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (or Wilson Airport, depending on your flight). Here, you will board your flight back home, carrying with you unforgettable memories of Africa’s wildlife, landscapes, and cultures.
