Discover Wildlife on a Nairobi National Park Safari
Experience an unforgettable Nairobi National Park Safari, exploring the first national park in Kenya and East Africa. Established on 16th December 1946, Nairobi National Park lies just 7 km south of Nairobi city center, offering a unique combination of wildlife adventure and city proximity. Spanning 117.21 km², the park serves as a sanctuary for diverse African wildlife against a backdrop of urban skyline views.
Landscapes and Ecosystems on a Nairobi National Park Safari
The Nairobi National Park Safari takes you through open grasslands with scattered Acacia bushes and lower slopes dominated by Themeda, Cynodon, and Digitaria grasses. The southern section features a permanent river lined with lush forest, while the northern rocky areas host unique plant species. Broken bush, rocky valleys, and deep gorges further diversify habitats for wildlife throughout the park.
Seasonal Migration and Wildlife Movements
During a Nairobi National Park Safari, you can witness seasonal herbivore movements as animals migrate south to the Kitengela Conservation Area in the wet season and return during the dry season, resulting in high concentrations of wildlife within the park.
